Scope

This policy applies, to the extent of rights held by the site operator, to original editorial content, illustrations, original site design, and site-specific additions made available through https://www.modelfactbook.com and this repository. The domain is a publishing identity, not a statement that a domain name is a separate legal entity. This policy does not create ownership of third-party works, unprotectable facts, or public-domain material.

Reading, discovery, and attributed excerpts

You may read publicly accessible pages and link to their canonical URLs. Search engines and AI answer services may crawl and index public pages, retain copies reasonably necessary for search or answer retrieval, and display brief, attributed excerpts with a link to the canonical source. This limited permission also applies when those discovery services operate commercially. Attribution should identify ModelFactbook.com and the original page.

Uses requiring separate permission

Except for the limited permission above, applicable legal exceptions, and rights under third-party or earlier licenses, no permission is granted to republish complete articles, operate content mirrors, redistribute content collections, sell or sublicense site-specific material, or publish adaptations. Separate written permission is required where such use requires permission from the relevant rights holder. No license for model training or fine-tuning is granted by this policy.

Third-party software and materials

The inherited Janus-MD software and other MIT-covered portions retain their MIT permissions. The complete original copyright and license notice is in LICENSES/Janus-MD-MIT.txt; see THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md for scope and provenance. Those portions may be used under their original terms even when they appear inside modified files. Nothing in this policy adds restrictions to rights already provided by an applicable third-party license.

Referenced models, papers, datasets, images, trademarks, dependencies, and other third-party material remain subject to their owners' rights and terms. A citation or hyperlink does not transfer those rights to the site operator.

Existing permissions and legal exceptions

This policy applies prospectively. It does not revoke permissions already lawfully granted for earlier copies under MIT or another applicable license. It does not restrict uses allowed by applicable law, including quotation, fair use, fair dealing, or other copyright exceptions where they apply.

Names, branding, and rights notices

No trademark license or right to imply sponsorship or endorsement is granted. For uses requiring our permission, retain the applicable attribution and rights notices unless separately agreed in writing. Third-party attribution requirements continue to apply independently.
